Otago Explorer History.

Malcolm & Gillian Budd established Otago Explorer in September 1998 with the purchase of a 10 seater coach.
With the help from family members a brochure with a dynamic logo was established and a user friendly website was set up.
Initially the tours provided were twice daily to Larnach Castle and a mid day Sightseeing Tour.
Due to demand, evening Wildlife Tours were introduced which enabled us to provide combination tours.
The concept worked well, and the introduction of a Hop On/Hop Off Sightseeing Tour in 2002 was an innovative idea that was a first for Dunedin and is very popular.

We have contracts with other tour operators and provide optional excursions for groups visiting the Otago region.

Malcolm has been involved in the Tourism Industry since 1979 and has always been passionate about giving tourists an experience to remember. He was recognized for this when he achieved the Dunedin Host Tourism Personality of the Year award.
Many of Otago Explorers clients have been recommended by previous clients.

Otago Explorer is a privately owned and operated company which employs up to 5 staff during the peak season and now has a fleet of 5 coaches.
